I run a lot of WiFi devices as well as run a gaming/work server. This router does a great job in signal strength and setup. But i do get random disconnects as others do. Cisco needs to update the firmware to solve this problem. but its a good router all around.

Set the 2.4 GHz network to Channel: 11-2.462 GHz
Set the 5 GHz network to Channel: 165-5.825 GHz

Overall good router, when it stays connected, April 22nd, 2013
Overall, I think that this is a good router, and offers much better speed over my older one. To take full advantage of the speed (within your home network), you will need to upgrade your wireless computers with 802.11ac adapters. Set up was easy and all of my DLNA compliant devices were immediately visible, allowing me to stream my HD content. I have not had this router long enough to experience all of the other features it offers. The main problem that I have had over the last three weeks, as mentioned by another reviewer, is that it loses internet connectivity; has happened three times in the last two weeks...rebooting restores connectivity. Am in the process of troubleshooting with Linksys tech support, but I think the fix will end up being an eventual firmware upgrade.

Over all I am happy with the performance of the Linksys EA6500 wireless router and the Linksys WUMC710 universal media connector. I setup my Samsung smart TV to Linksys WUMC710 universal media connector and now I can browse the internet and stream Netflix HD video with out a hitch even with a PC hardwired to the Linksys WUMC710 universal media connector. the Linksys EA6500 wireless router its self in my opinion is not hard to setup, but you do have to make sure the machine or laptop your using supports wireless N or else it will never find the router. Once Linksys EA6500 wireless router is setup non wireless n devices work fine. Having the guest login is great. I always have people over using my WiFi access and its nice not having to give them my secure password. And with my Cisco Connect Cloud Android App, you can keep track on who is on your network even when you are not at home. I've yet to try shared storage and the Linksys wireless cameras, but I sure it will handle with out any problems. the only con I have encountered which still not sure if it was the router or My provider I had to restart it once since I got it for some reason it lost internet connectivity.

This Linksys EA6500 wireless router by Cisco comes with simple instructions and is easy to setup. I am technically challanged and need devices that I know will work and require little maintenance. This Linksys router is just the ticket for me and I am confident it will perform as advertized. After all, it's my third upgrade!

Great Speeds, Hard Setup/Poor Development, March 3rd, 2013
I purchased the EA6500 as a replacement for my EA4500 that quit working after 9 months (but I could not find the receipt to warranty it). I followed the directions for installation, but had issues getting it connected to the my Arris Cable Modem. When I called tech support, I was on hold for about 30 minutes before a tech rep was on the line, at which time I was informed that he was not trained to work with the 6500 and I was placed on hold for another 20-30 minutes. Once I got the correct representative on the phone, he was able to walk my through to get proper connectivity. However, I could not get my Xbox 360 to properly connect. I was then informed that Linksys support does not cover Xbox connectivity, and that I would have to pay a third party service to help troubleshoot the problem. The reason provided is that the Linksys representative did not want to damage the settings within the Xbox…understandable. However, the third party service was not reasonable. The lowest offered plan went for $80 for three months of service. This may sound reasonable, but the likelihood of needing additional support beyond this initial setup is minimal. In addition, I just spent over $200 on a router that is supposed to be “smart”, but yet required manual programming just to get it to work. I was able to find a resource that helped me get my Xbox connected, by changing settings in the router, not the Xbox. I can say that the router is performing very well, despite the several hours in setup, programming, and research in order to get it to work with (3) laptops, (1) desktop, (2) tablets, (3) phones, (1) Xbox, (1) PS3, and (1) Wii.

I purchased this Linksys EA6500 wireless router after dragging out my Linksys WRT54G wireless G router for all these years. Wow what a difference! I have many devices connected at once and it doesn's skip a beat. Also, the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi webtool makes it very easy to manage the network unlike older routers with software you have to download. I would absolutely reccommend.

Some issues installing but works well now, November 30th, 2012
There were a couple issues with it. Since it was so new their tech support didn't know the solution without working with me for a few hours. I list the most important issue below: *) make sure the router isn't plugged into the same wall outlet as your computer, monitor and lamp (if they are all plugged into the same one). The router needs a more stable power supply and I had 2 desktop computers, 1 monitor, 1 lamp AND the router plugged into the same wall outlet (through a surge supresor). It would loose connectivity occasionally, but once I put it on its own wall outlet it worked great.

My old (more than 5years) Linksys gave up the ghost this weekend, and I originally bought a different manufacturer router which we couldn't get working even with the seller's expert at this item helping us. So we took the other router back, and I bought this Linksys. We had trouble with the auto-setup, but this time, I got Linksys on CHAT on Sunday afternoon, and they painlessly walked me through the setup. For routers, you really want to have good support because I believe cable providers don't necessarily set up their signals to enable easy auto-setup. Linksys provided excellent support!! Once we got it running, we were able to quickly watch live streaming on our new wireless HDTV w/o any difficulties. Thank you Linksys!
