Outstanding, June 13th, 2013
I live in Toronto. My service provider promised speeds up to 25mb. Never reached more than 5. we have many devices. I bought this product yesterday and the speeds are amazing. I now average over 22 to 28mb on our second floor, over 30mb on our main floor and in the basement were the router is it's almost 40mb. Amazing. the range is amazing too. In the backyards we get speeds of over 18mb average.

yellow & green lights, May 29th, 2013
This has been by far the best wireless router I have ever had with all the bells and whistles that you get with it. I gave it 4 stars only because of the surge that I had a few days ago and ever since wasn't able to connect no matter the sequence that I done. I did notice that there are green and yellow lights by each port on the back, but haven't been able to find out what they are for? I wasn't able to get online for a couple of days to check things out since I couldn't find anything on the provided cd. In need of help or I will have to replace!

I am a fan of linksys router i used E1200, EA2700 and now EA4500. So far all 3 is very good but the EA4500 the best in speed i will recommend these product to family and friends and the public overall.

great wifi - strong signal - fast - received on 3 days, May 23rd, 2013
Received my reconditioned ES4500 in 3 days. It took about 15 minutes to unbox and set up. I have had it over a month and it has performed as advertised with strong signal and fast speed. I use the gigabyte connection for my TV but WiFi for everything else. Great product for a very reasonable price.

Extremely easy to setup, May 4th, 2013
IDIOT PROOF. Extremely easy to setup. If you cant setup this router you shouldn’t own a computer in the first place. But its current Cloud firmware and ease of setup for the masses is a serious FAIL for power users who like to tweak things. I get it that Linksys wanted a setup that was super easy and a router that could be sold in every Wal-Mart. We all can’t be brainiacs. Yes I know I can down grade the firmware to the old version to get all of the advanced setting and features back, but you also lose Cloud features in doing so. And that was the main reason I bought this router. As for performance there are a lot of bad reviews out there on range. 2.4Ghz works the same maybe a hair better than my old Netgear. I get solid 5 bars anywhere in my 2000sf ranch style new home, and 2-3 bars anywhere outside on my 200x200 property. 5Ghz is another story. Walk 20 ft away from the router and signal drops fast. At 50ft and one wall between the router and me I get one bar. And forget about outside my vinyl siding home. No signal at all. Cloud service does bug-out from time to time and will not allow me to sign in remotely from outside my network. A simple reboot of the router fixes this. I have 21 devices connected to this router and run 5-10GB of data daily through it. There is a glitch on the routers device list. If you lock your IP address at the device it doesn’t show up routers device table. But the device does work and connect properly through the router. Only devices that the routers DCHP assigns an IP address shows up on the device list. My Netgear had the same issue from day one so this is nothing new to me. My Netgear lasted 1 year. Lets see how long this one lasts before it dies of a heart attack too.

My Favorite One, April 21st, 2013
For me EA4500 is a very good router. It performs what was promised. I like how it gives me strong signal . The router should be place on a higher location to broadcast a very good signal. I am amaze with the wireless speed of the router as well. Not all wireless devices maybe running on same technology as what the router has but it gives reasonable wireless speed. Of all the router that Linksys made , this is my favorite one. Well, not all consumers may have same experience as what I had with this router. But for me this router is good if you have a large house , gaming devices, entertainment devices aside from computers . I chose this router because this one fits for my network.

Awesome range and features, November 25th, 2012
I purchased the Linksys EA4500 wireless router as an upgrade from the Linksys E900 wireless router because I wanted dual band capabilities for my media collection. It works great and I am able to connect my 2TB external hard drive directly to the router's usb port and stream movies to all my devices. The wireless connections are secure and I experience no loss of connectivity or buffering when streaming movies to other devices. I love this system.

Easy setup, March 15th, 2013
This was very easy to install. It did recognize all the devices hooked up to the network without difficulties and the WIFI works very well.
In the future some improvements could be made, like, more ports and the ability to not broadcast SSID.
This was connected in combination with a range extender over power line and the system works very well.

Never have to reset, March 15th, 2013
I had an old linksys router and added a wireless N Bridge and thought I was saving money and being smart. I couldn't have been more wrong as I would have to reset it by unplugging the router waiting 20 seconds and plug it back in repeatedly over its life. I just assumed you had to do this with every router. The other problem I had was the speed of my other wired computers as I never understood why they weren't faster. All problems solved as the gig switch in the router makes my wired devices scream and I have never rebooted the router since install in December. Now I can travel without having the family call and tell me the wireless is down.

Don't just listen to sales people - buy what works!, March 15th, 2013
We live in rural Canada; 6 months ago we went to a national retailer looking for advice to purchase a good router for our situation - small town, poor service, lots of devices. They recommeded a competitor, but our service did not improve, our devices would not all connect and we wasted our money. We were frustrated.
We then purchased a new TV, with wifi, and now received advice to contact Cisco - we did and purchased Cisco Linksys EA4500 Smart App Enabled Wireless-N Dual-Band Wi-Fi N900 Router with 4-Port Gigabit Switch - USB - Media Server. Within an hour, we had the entire house set up and connected.
All of our devices on line and working...not only would we recommend this product, we are considering purchasing as a house warming gift for friend building their first home.
Fabulous product!

It does improve performance., March 15th, 2013
I just set up the EA 4500 today and the benefits are very much worth it. I created two different networks, one for 2.4 and one for 5 ghrz and a guest network. I then created the valet key for the three laptops in the family. The laptops already saw the network and I could of just signed in and had it connect automatically in the future. So, I am not sure of the value of the valet key. One wireless printer identified the network and all I had to do was give it the password. The other wireless printer, I had to go into the wireless protected setting and give it the printer pin number. The only device that I had trouble connecting was the Dish Network supplied 722K Receiver and DVR. This device had a dual band wireless N adapter from Dish manufactured by Netgear. It work fine under the previous Cisco Linksys Router which this replaced a WRT310 N. I first called Dish and they referred me to Netgear. After 3 people at Netgear, they could not help me. Called back Dish. I de-installed the Netgear Dish adapter and plugged it back in while I had the TV on. I went to the screen and there was a setup menu. I followed the instructions, the receiver identified all of the Networks, I selected the one to be attached and the adapter came on line.In two minutes this was done. In order to get the 722K online this process took me three hours because of phone calls to Dish and Netgear. The router was doing the correct thing. I just didn't realize that i had to go through the setup process again because of the new router as I kept the network names the same.
The speed increase is significant. I have two laptops which both have wireless N that are five years old and only 2 gigs of memory. We have a 20 mps service and now these old timers have a new life. We also have a recent laptop with 4 gigs of memory and that one just downloads movies in a flash. The big desk top has 8 gigs of memory and the response time on that machine is almost instantaneous.
I realize that the 11ac machines will be coming out very soon. However, I did not want to be on the bleeding edge of that technology with firmware and other issues as well as spend more money for new adapters. I am very comfortable with the decision for the EA4500.

Faster and longer range, March 15th, 2013
We previously were using the WRT610N. Because of where our cable service is located it was set up at one end of the house. The far end suffered horribly with very poor wireless signal. We finally had enough and purchased the E4500. The set up software, as usual, failed to set up the router. I've never been able to get the LINKSYS/CISCO set up software to work. I had to reset it and log in directly to set up the router. No big deal since I'd done it 10+ times on other models. Once we got it manually configured, signal strength improved drastically. The far end of the house would get 20+/- Mbps or less, now it's at least 54. A definite HARDWARE improvement, the set up software needs improvement.

Mostly Good, February 18th, 2013
Linksys makes a durable product, just one that is not the most user friendly. Would not install on Windows XP, took several times to install it with iMac, and only two times with Windows 7. Setup with several ipads was easy. Always a nice product, and always a pain to install on some products. Also understand that linksys does not want you to use your Network Magic, now they want you to buy Network pro. Might as well get you for as much as they can all at one time.

A truly excellent product, December 1st, 2012
The EA4500 is probably the best router on the market. It is also probably the most sophisticated router on the market. Two areas to focus on for the best results are assigning the best "channel" and dealing with any existing "MAC" settings. For this you may need aide available via chat. If you are linking older equipment lacking security you may find that you will be restricted to the "visitor" port. Not a problem except perhaps with your expectations.

Great router, December 13th, 2012
I have about a 7 year old Linksys WRT54GX that I decided to upgrade with the EA4500. I really didn't think that my speeds would increase dramatically because the WRT54GX router is B/G capable and my cable service only provides up to 20 Mbps downloads. I have been incredibly impressed by the performance of the EA4500 during the short amount of time that I have had it. My download speeds have increased by quite a bit and more importantly, the lag that I used to experience while remote accessing my work computer has disappeared. This is a fantastic product.

SLEEK ROUTER, December 15th, 2012
Recently upgraded my existing Linksys 2.4GHz Wireless-G(had this for over approx.7 yrs. always on) w/the EA4500 Smart Wi-Fi Router. Very satisfied with ease of setup and as always with Cisco products the security options.
However to explain my 4 star rating:
1. no off/on switch
2. if accidentally UN plugged(even for 1 sec.) or switched off via extension, it gets almost impossible to get back on line quickly. To say the least! It loses not only the IP address but also layer 1 abilities for total power up. You have to wait well over the 2 minutes(like 15 min.) and power up after you re boot modem/PC etc. If done out of order things really get interesting for the rookie, all strange imaginations come into play. With that I'm satisfied with everything else.
