i have not been able to connect my wireless HP laaserjet color printer to it via WPS. And, i can connect my Nook color to the "guest", but when i try to get my email screen up an indicator just spins and spins. My desk top computer works really well. Go figure!

Before our purchase of the E1200 Wireless-N Router, our home was in constant turnoil. I like to watch movies on my laptop, and my wife uses hers to help her in her knitting business. Since my laptop was in the dining rooom, closer to the old modem, I had no problems, but her computer's reception of the wifi signal was erratic, sometimes disappearing altogether. Now that we have the E1200 my wife is a much happier camper and our reception of the wifi signal, mo matter where we are using our computers (as well as a new IPad) is excellent.

I have only had experience with a few routers so I don't really know if there is any difference. Just keep upgrading as you go. I don't really like the software that comes with the old router so I don't really use it.

I am a 57 year old grandmother and not very techno savvy but I was able to set up my E1200 Wireless-N Router without calling in my son to help me. This router has never given me any trouble. I bought this unit because my old router started to drop connections. It was about 8 yrs old. I have to tell you I inserted the CD and clicked the .exe file and this thing practically set itself up. This includes security which I didn't have on my old router because it seemed too difficult to set up. Connectivity is outstanding and best of all you don't have to buy this at some specialty store. The E1200 router was very easy to install. Since it has been in service, we have had no problems with it. Usually secondary equipment like this is hidden under the desk. However, with this fabulous design, it is sitting next to my Apple computer on the desk. It looks like it should have an Apple logo on it. I can now use my ipad anywhere in the house, yard or neighbors house.

It's funny because I bought it and delayed setting it up because I was so sure that I would have trouble with it as I had in the past. I found every excuse possible to delay the inevitable. I now get to enjoy the ability to connect via wireless within my household. The installation was seem-less and without hassles, one of the reasons I purchased your product. One of the problems I have encountered is that the new XBOX will not connect with the router via the wireless connection, hard wired it works fine. In another room where the children play the wireless connection is not possible for the XBOX. Is there a way to upgrade the firmware to enable this feature. I understand the XBOX compatibility chart does not have the E1200 listed and therefor it will not function, but I think there might be something you can do about this. Please address this if possible, I love your product and do not wish to exchange if for something that will function with the XBOX 360 -- thanks and have a great day -- Bill

I had been using the Linksys E1200 Wireless Router for about month and was experiencing connection problem due to the router not being properly set-up to assign individual ISP numbers to different computers. I called Cisco's tech support dept. and was talked thru how to reset the router and how to change the computer settings to get the router to start working properly. The tech was professional, pleasant and patient in solving my system problems. this is my first experience using a cisco systems product and between the outstanding customer support and great product performance I would highly recommend it to family and friends. This has been one of the easiest products to hook up for me! I bought it because I recently bought a laptop and needed a wireless router for it. First, I am 74 and I cannot believe how easy it was to set up this router. I have always had Netgear but when I purchased a wireless printer for my laptop I began to have problem getting the router to cooperate wih my laptop. I tried everything including purchasing a new one (twice) before decdding to by the Linksys E1200. First, I didn't have to figure out the security program, it was automatic. Secondly, I did not have to reset the router when my daughter came to visit with her laptop, the Linksys 1200 made it very easy by assigning a code for guest users. There's more but I guess I'm out of room. I just enjoy it.

Our wired DSL connection was fine when we had only 1 computer, but when I bought a netbook PC, I wanted to be able to be online on the netbook anywhere in the house, even when my husband was online on our desktop Mac. The Linksys E1200 Wireless-N Router was the perfect solution! Setup was a cinch, thanks to great software and well-written instructions. The wireless connection with the E1200 is even faster on the Mac than the wired connection used to be. And it cost less than I thought it would to get a unit with the signal strength we needed. I highly recommend the E1200. Based on my experience with this product, I would definitely consider other Cisco products in the future.

The setup for the Linskys was easy enough, but the performance has been a little tricky. I use my laptop in the basement (where my office is) daily and on some occasions, on average at least once everyday, I either lose internet access/connection all together, or I have to move my lap top some where to receive a signal etc. This may have to do with the type of internet service I have as well, but besides that the product works quite well.

The documentation on this just assumes the person doing the install is a newbie, and doesn't even provide the rudimentary info needed to install/configure without being force-fed their utilities. This made it take much longer than it should have to map to my existing network, where I was replacing a router and did not want to re-do encryption keys all over the house. Annother peeve on my part is that this new router was paired with a new DOCIS cable modem, and it took a half dozen combinations of power cycles of the modem and router before the two of them would talk to each other, get DNS info, and allow me onto the internet. That said, now that it is up and running, it has been rock solid stable and I've had zero down time, which is the sign of a good product.

Also needed to tweak the config #directions were of no help) to the on demand setting. I made the change yesterday. So far; so good. This router is great for a home user over all others. Primarily because the Cisco/Linksys routers have such stable software and setup. I've used many other router brands and each one has it's quirks. This router was so easy I couldn't believe it. I'm used to having to manually setup everything and this one even my grandma could setup! It's range is normal and it runs very smoothly for my internet connections. I have 6 devices connected to it (3 PC's, Wii, and 2 Streaming devices) and it works great. If you want to add a USB port for an external shared drive or something consider an upgraded version. After having bad experiences with Netgear, Belkin, etc...I'll always get Cisco's routers...It's like a Toyota of Routers!

This router is a lot better than other routers I have used before. With the Cisco Connect software, setup was a breeze. However, sometimes the wireless ability hinders connection of my further-away computers. The direct connections are always on, but wi-fi disappears or is weaker than the original source (I have a wi-fi modem, and it's easier to connect to). If you have one long enough ethernet cable, I would suggest you use it for constant connection rather than the wireless feature.

Overall, the design is simple, the wireless range is good, setup is very easy, and no loss of connection...yet. When I say sometimes "choppy," I mean the performance can have its ups and downs. Some days my connection is quick and smooth. Other days, there will be hitches where it will be slow for a little bit, then speed back up. I have done what I can to eliminate any interference (changed the router's channel, separated from other devices, etc.), but there is still the occasional hiccup. This, however, is not a huge deal, because the browsing speed is still faster than my older router...even when the E1200 is running a bit sluggish.

The physical size is small, and it functions well. The 1 2 3 set up was bogus advertising! I had to call tech support to get it set up. First thing they said, was throw away the set up disk and then walked me through about a 30 minute procedure. Haven't had any problems since it has been set up.

I bought this router to replace a Belkin that couldn't keep up with the work. It preforms perfectly, managing two full-time MacBooks, a wireless Epson printer and Iphone and frequently, several guest computers and smartphones. It is fast, reliable and the basic setup takes just a few minutes. Advanced features and controls were harder to use. It took quite a while to discover how to access and control advance features from my browser. The quick setup feature doesn't address rebooting or tell you how to access the client list among other things. That information and the router's web address should be easier to find. I like the router, I'd buy it again.

I have a mid level entry home and the router is connected to a downstairs computer. There is a netbook, laptop, and wireless fax/print/copy machine that we have linked to it and we are able to communicate from anywhere in the house without an antennae card with no loss of connection. It has not decreased any connection or loading speed of our web browsers. The parental controls for usage from the kids computers has worked great and is easy to modify for those remote users needing some limitations. The linksys E1200 router has to guts to run it all. We bought this as a upgrade for our wireless G linksys 1 year ago and delivers the good. Our network actually is run between 2 houses ours is the primary and we share network access with our neighbors in friends. Between us all we run 4 android phones, 2 macs, 3 pc's 2 wii's with netflix and a direct TV setup. We also share files and back up over the network. Both of our houses run netflix at the same TIME!!!!! The router never gets a break and never has an issue. Wireless performance is the same as wired in internet speed tests, this also includes ping tests and latency. We have 2 wireless printers that work flawlessly. You cannot buy a better router for the money. The only con I found is the range. With my older model linksys it was able to reach my friends house unrepeated, however with this sleek new unit the internal antenna dose not have the punch so we bought an engenious ECB 9500 repeater with 1/2 broadcast radius and the added robustness and range the network giving all of us full strength internet and network access we never had before. But the reality is the buck stops at the linksys and it runs the show could not be happier. I use advance settings to set mine.

Beware - the set-up CD provided (for the E1200) is only for Mac OS Lion, not for Leopard, Snow Leopard, etc. So, you will have to do your initial set-up manually. Through CHAT it was chore, as I was kicked out numerous times and, in the end, my messages were not sending properly. But, eventually, everything got hooked up and is running perfectly!

I bought this to replace the piece of junk Time Warner included with their internet service. This has performed better than any previous Linksys routers I've used in the past. The router has 300 mbs wireless, however it only supports 10/100 mbs over ethernet, what's up with that? It should definitely include the 10/100/1000 ethernet. Anyway, well worth the money, easy to setup and the administrative console is fairly easy to work with, although the Help could be more detailed for us novices!

It of course showed me all the available networks within broadcast range but it is easy to make them unavailable to this router. have yet to set up a wireless printer but bet it happens as easily as the inital set up. Our Belkin Wireless N Router went belly up after only 18 months +- so motored on to our local Staples store and began the search. Looked at the Linksys E 1200 along with a couple other brands. I had a old NETGEAR router that was slow connection and had a poor wireless connection. The old router finally died and we search for a cisco router that was reliable and we picked the E1200. I have been very pleased with it. Set-up was a breeze thanks to the included CD. Our internet browsing and download speed has increased by 25%. The signal is GREAT, I have the router down stairs and on the right side of the house and I'm on the left side of the house and upstairs, which could be a problem because the signal tends to travel downwards but I got 3 bars and I can watch youtube videos and download stuff just fine.

This wireless-N Router was a snap to hook up. What I "love" about it mostly was the instant security feature done automatically. The last Router I bought "Linksys" 8 years ago took me an entire day to figure out how to "secure" it so no one else could use it. When I got the router, I immediately put in the disc and tried to install it. I received an error and the setup file would not process. I waited until my daughter could help since she had installed her own router at her house. She also had problems and called Cisco support. Turns out that with my DSL the DSL modem that I have is also a router and was causing a conflict. Cisco tech support was able to work with us and get us up and running in a fairly short time. The tech support was very helpful and much appreciated. The router has been working fine with no problems. I am pleased to have a wireless setup now at home.

I actually set up the router right before I was supposed to head to the stadium for the University of Michigan game and I thought for sure it would take me an hour and I would be late for kickoff. But luckily I got everything unpacked, read and running within 15 minutes. The directions were easy to follow and all the materials were packaged neatly. My internet since has had great speed and I've never had issue with it going out (only once when I didn't realize my roommate unplugged it to plug in her speakers). I love my wireless router. It allows me to go anywhere inside my house and in my neighborhood. Before Cisco I had all those wires running through my house and was worried about my child getting whole of them and chewing on them or getting tangled up, but now I know longer need to worry. I purchased this router to replace an aging LinkSys router for my home wifi network. Consequently it was not a new process. Installation was simple - insert the CD and let the program run. I did ignore the warning for accessing advanced settings and found the desired control for turning off the SSID and setting up MAC filtering, which should be regarded as mandatory, not optional. My wifi distance requirements are minimal and signal strength is a full 5-bars all over the house. The unit is small, flat and unobtrusive. My only disappointment was when I turned the power to the router off momentarily to re-configure some wire routing and the unit lost my advanced settings, MAC filtering and reverted to full access, no-security mode. This became apparent only when I ran the internet speed test and the program informed me that it couldn't find the router on my system. After a phone call to a very helpful LinkSys technician, I learned that it was necessary to re-run the install program from the CD which then found my previous settings and turned security back on. It would be nice if the unit had some internal battery backup to account for power loss, and also an on-screen warning when the router is not being recognized and security has been lost. Overall, this is a typical LinkSys product. It works well at a price anyone can afford.

I've always been a Linksys customer. There had been a couple times that I've tried other brands, but always seem to come back. This router took all of 10 minutes to setup, and has been up and running for about 4 months now, not requiring me to log in once, or restart it. The only complaint I have is that I would like to see the range be a little bigger as I have a 2 story home, and the coverage isn't great at the far edge of the house. Of course I could get around that by buying the next model up with extended range. Overall, I've been very happy with this router, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solid router with low maintenance and easy to setup.

I bought the E1200 wireless-N router to enable streaming movies to reach the TV which is located 60 feet from the computer. My home is not conducive to direct cabling so I opted for the router. It works like a charm and was easy for me to set up. I am, by the way, a 70 year old female which should tell you something about how easy it was to set up. Of course the installation disk made it all the easier. My son, who is the hardware guru for his company's IT, recommended the Linksys E1200

I almost forget it is even there next to the mammoth router/modem I have from at&t, I can tell you this much I trust the security much more on this than anything else I have ever owned. I like the added feature of allowing a separate password for guest when they come over that you can make much easier to remember and control the number of guests that are allowed on at one time. Wireless devices easily sync to this router. I would not go with any other device!

I bought the Linksys E1200 to replace two old home routers from D-Link and Netgear that had ceased to function. What an improvement in performance! I now get Very Good to Excellent reception throughout my home, which includes some 8"cinder block walls. And I don't have to carefully position the unit. We have not been thrown off the internet since I bought the Linksys router. Currently we cannot use it wirelessly as the building we have our office in interferes with all wireless devices!

I have recently opened a new office and had purchased a DLINK router. For a month it was one problem after another with constant frustrations on internet speed, connectivity etc. I had my service provider out several times and could not really get to the bottom of where the real issue was. The last serviceman that came in said that it is probably a router problem and that I should consider getting a Cisco product. I immediately did so and have had zero issues since then. I needed to replace an older router that started having connectivity issues. I researched and found that the Linksys E1200 met and exceeded the requirements for my home. It is used to connect a desktop, a laptop and our smartphones. I had been told by an IT person to install it on the desktop that was directly connected to the router. I received an error that it would not complete because of other software. I had removed the software from the previous router but still could not use the desktop for setup. I ran the setup cd on my laptop and it installed with no problems. The router will be found as new hardware and setup with a newer computer system, but you still want to use the installation cd to have the ability to secure the router and give access to guests. The performance of the Linksys E1200 has been excellent. I hook my laptop to my 60" tv to watch video feeds and have no problems with the streaming. This has been a great investment for me at a great price.

This Linksys router was pretty easy to install and set up. The hardest thing I have had to deal with is remembering my password. I like the security features it has so only you and you family can access your wireless internet. It has good reception though the house and pretty good reception outside too. Perfect for using one or two wireless devices in a 2-3 bedroom house.
