It is a good modem, but just a modem, August 8th, 2013
This is for use only with Comcast. We are outside Chicago and picked up this modem for use with 25mb service. Setup is easy, just a call to Comcast with the serial number and MAC, they did the rest. While you can open the built in web page from the modem, the modem is locked down by Comcast's firmware. The user name and password are just left blank when logging in. Logging in will list out basic channel info, that is it. A router must be used to connect more than one device to the modem. The LAN port does support gigabit and fast ethernet. One star was deducted for the absolute lack of documentation.

Very easy to install, December 4th, 2012
When my ISP (Comcast) notified me that my old router was slowing down my download speed, I researched the available units and chose the Linksys unit . It was very easy to set up and I immediately noticed a stronger wireless signal around the house and faster downloads. I gave it four stars because it does what it is advertised to do. It was not more than that.

The Linksys DPC3008 works fine since I bought it in May 2013, July 3rd, 2013
I just don't want to pay $7.00 a month for the rental of the modem so I bought the refurbished DPC3008 Cable Modem. I plugged it in after I got it, following the direction from the accompanying CD, called tech support of the internet provider, give them the MAC address, asked them to activate my new modem and it worked fine since, just like the one I rented from the cable company. There is just one minor problem, that is my ROKU connects itself sometime to the Guest account so I just have to reconnect it to the Main account. I highly recommend this modem to all other internet users.

Fast Easy Install & Good Speed, May 22nd, 2013
The DPC3008 is an attractive, compact design and can be installed horizontally or vertically along with optional wall mounting. Linksys's documentation and the details on the meaning of the 5 LED indicator lights is thorough and easily understood. Installation was simply! After plugging cables, Modem booted up quickly and was running in couple of minutes. The Speedtest.net shows better performance up and down than the advertised speed for my ISP level. Very pleased!
